Shareholders had been eagerly awaiting the launch of their 62ft semi-traditional narrowboat and came from all over the country for the champagne launch of their new boat and to wish Andy and Claire Hunter and their family well on their maiden voyage.
Mr and Mrs Hunter accompanied by their children Bethany, Adam and Hector the dog, were lucky enough to draw the first week away on Maia and were planning to head towards Lapworth along the Worcester and Birmingham canal on her first trip. An important stop at Cadbury's World was also on the agenda.
